a new motto

one of our new mottos, which we say at least once a day is, "what we
put in the trash can stays in the trash can." ha ha. this is where
trash cans with lids come in handy. we just bought a new one with a
lid for our bathroom.

another fun lesson we learned this week...we should pick up every
single crayon because when we're not looking, noah will find it and
draw all over the door with green crayons. oh, and by the way, when
in doubt, buy the washable crayons. at least it was light green.
:-)

noah has become fascinated with anything that has a temperature.
i'd say that right now, hot and cold are the two most frequent signs
that we see. he is definately figuring out that the stove is hot.
he is particularly excited about the teapot. as i have been trying
to switch from coffee to green tea, we've been using the teapot a
lot. he wants to watch and keeps his palms up in the air as if
saying, "what is that noise?" the other night when reading his book
before bedtime, noah found a teapot in the book we were reading.
and, it was clear he knew what it was and was very concerned about
the teapot in the kitchen. so, since he wouldn't drop it, we had to
go in the kitchen and watch the teapot. noah held his hand to his
ear as if saying, "where's the noise?" then he signed hot once
more. plus, he found neighbor becky's teapot today too and signed
hot.

and speaking of other fun bedtime book reading stories...noah has
started smelling flowers in books too. not sure how he figured it
out since neither scott, neighbor becky or i have done that with
him. maybe he's just that smart.

noah will blow kisses too.

some of the new signs we've seen lately... baby, book, shoes, hat,
duck, bird, pig

Noah has been very busy organizing things too. He loves to make
piles of things and then move the piles from one place to the other.
the other day he was all about making a pile of blocks in his bed.
then of course we have to always reorganize the tupperware by
putting some on the cat play thingy, the footstool, the couch, and
the microwave box that was sitting in our dining room for a half of
a week. (btw, the microwave hood was installed today but when he
got it put up, the microwave didint work!!!! booo hoo hoo. back to
sears it goes and we'll get another one. sucky sucky)

noah likes to hop. or rather, he likes it when mama bounces him up
and down until her arms get tired. then when we stop, he says,
"hop, hop, hop" and signs more. who says i need to lift weights?

its funny how we've spent all this time trying to get noah to know
what things are when we talk about them...but i think we're starting
to reach the point where we don't always want him to know what we're
talking about. that's right, we've had to start spelling certain
things or else we have chaos. so far, its just been 'cheese' and
'straws.' go figure. straws are noah's new favorite way to drink
from a cup. way more funner than plain ol' sippys.

and last but not least...some pics.

here's noah helping daddy with ALL THE DIRT in his shorts (er,
capris) (who's excited that we have grass growing out back?!?!?!)

and one of the coolest new toys...boxes. and miles.
