Now that its getting really nice outside, Noah also really likes to help with all our outside projects too. He really likes to rake and when we were raking the other day, he was very particular that he (and only he) would carry the rake. once we were all set then, he actually really enjoys "raking" up the leaves despite the fact that he sometimes gets frustrated with the rake gets stuck in the grass. Shhh, don't tell him though...sometimes i turn the rake upside down so that it doesn't get stuck.
i can tell that its going to be a dirty and fall filled summer since we've only worn shorts twice this spring and we already have one scratch, one scrape, one bruise and plenty of times at the sink washing hands. i also think that its going to be a bath with soap every night kind of summer. anyone think its a good idea to get a sandbox? within minutes of being outside, he usually picks up a stick. Neighbor Becky says that when she's out for walks while watching Noah that Noah will usually will give Blizzard a stick and then they'll trade back and forth with the sticks.
the big helper also knows that when we're done with tissues that they go in the trash can. smart boy!!
noah also likes to help give Hayden her lunch whenever she's over for the morning.
I think its safe to say that Noah thrives on human touch. He loves his mama snuggles, he loves to be worn in slings, he loves massages...i just found it super touching that tonight while i was trying to get noah to sleep, we were both giving each other face massages. granted, his massage for me was more like a nose press, but still...it was obvious that that is what he was doing.
tonight at dinner Noah was really interested in learning the difference between hot and cold. he had some sweet potatoes that were hot and he'd do the hot sign. then, he wanted some ice cubes and would sign cold. Noah LOVES ice cubes. forget about bringing toys when we go out to eat to keep him occupied. all we need is a glass of ice water with a straw and he'll drink almost a half a glass.
Noah's finally doing better with eating big boy foods. He usually ends up eating at least something off our plates. ham and cheese omlets, mexican chicken casserole, wienerschnitzel...
He's getting a lot better at doing stairs too. he can go up stairs while holding on with one hand on the railing. most of the time he needs both hands on the railing while going down, but no longer needs me to help him. this is probably because of the many times we've been up and down the stairs at the park.
we're wondering what the eye doctor is going to say about his eyes in a few weeks. for the past few weeks, noah's been looking over the top of his glasses as opposed to looking through his glasses. not sure if that's because his glasses don't fit right or whether his eyes are changing.
i feel like there was more i was going to say but at the moment that's all that i can think of.
