- Carter gains weight like a champ (averaging somewhere in the neighborhood of 1-2 oz/day)
- breastfeeding came much easier with Carter than with his big brother
- Carter is very sensitive to milk flow and rate and mama has an oversupply. pulling off if it's too much, gulping a lot of air and fidgeting and grunting a lot because of gas pains. we've learned that we must burp him after feeding before doing much else otherwise we'll get a lot of spitup
- he makes a lot of noise in his just hanging out mode. he's beginning to make some more cooing noises lately.
- sometimes he prefers just hanging out checking out the world to being held (!!)
- he really enjoys spending time on his tummy and sometimes ends up falling asleep during tummy time
- so far he can fall asleep on his own and the nursing to sleep association isn't that ingrained yet. with the exception of this milk face picture
- as is true with a lot of babies, he spends the majority of the evening (say 5-8pm) wanting to be held or to nurse.
- he's losing some of his hair. despite the dark picture, see his receeding hair line (as well as how strong he is at tummy time)?
- he prefers to turn his head to the right. which explains his preference to lefty. doc says it's pretty normal and not too worry.
- he does not have blue eyes. he doesn't seem to have brown eyes either. rather, he has mystery dark grey eyes? i suppose the verdict is still out. any thoughts? turns out it is hard to get good pictures that show his eye color
- he loves his daddy
and noah? what's he up to? well, he LOVES his little brother. (no seriously, he does) loves giving kisses, helping with diapers (his favs include using pocket diapers and really poopy diapers) and cuddling
making fun art projects. here's the afternoon-long apple and peach tree art mama and noah made the other day

Awww! Great photos!
Sounds like he has blueberry eyes like Hayden! So dark, you can't quite tell. And then hers changed to those deep brown ones... (no I don't remember when, it was at least 6 months). Great pictures and update!
I can't count the number of times I have looked at these pictures since you made this post. I want to hold these boys tight and give them hugs and kisses.
This is a wonderful update. Absolutely adorable pictures. Finn is very impressed with Noah's crane! It really looks like you are doing well.
