its been interesting to see how he behaves over the weekend and its very curious that his old weekend routines don't cut it anymore. it used to be that putting him down for his nap was a piece of cake...nurse him to almost asleep, falls asleep almost instantly upon putting down in his bed. not so much anymore. now, smart boy wants to snuggle with his mama instead of nap. and so, we've (i'm not sad about it) given up his naptime nursing session and daddy is in charge of putting him down. the amazing part of it is, it works (usually). But lately his weekend naps have gotten shorter which makes night time weekend sleep worse which is tough since mama is trying to recoop after a week of work. on the other hand, he is sleeping much better at night during the week. we've slept through the night a few times in the past few weeks, which is AMAZING!!
anyways, we definately have a routine. i feel sorta badly about making our life so predictable, but ya know...its the one way i know to make it through the week. without fail you can find us grocery shopping on saturday mornings, cleaning the house on sunday mornings, and doing several loads of laundry. of course, making meals that provide leftovers on the weekend too. and don't forget that several more loads of laundry get done during the week. call me obsessive, but i've figured out which loads of laundry to do when throughout the week. and i've also come up with a new trait...sorta kinda planning ahead. wait, what? :-) it can be pretty exhausting, but at least the fall weather has been nice so we can spend some time outside on the weekends too.
like a few weekends ago when g'ma, g'pa and kim came to visit. way fruit farm was having a fall festival and the weather was beautiful and we went to go pick out some pumpkins. we rode on the GREEN tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch and had a great time picking out BIG pumpkins.
come on you guys!! let's go find some pumpkins!! and yes, i'll give you this silly look in my awesome green boots unless you find a BIG pumpkin. wait!! i think mama found a BIG pumpkin!
aunt kim, did you find a pumpkin?
a ha!! now, here's a BIG pumpkin!!
some other little tidbits i've been meaning to share...
noah's very big into sorting and counting. he definately knows all of his colors and even knows some letters!! now we're working on counting. he usually goes, "one, two, one, two," although tonight he did count to three which was all sorts of fun.
he loves to help me cook, and honestly, he sometimes DOES really help. for instance, he knows that when we get the spices out that we usually need a measuring spoon so he goes and gets one from the drawer. then he'll take the lid off the spice and spoon some out. (that last part usually with my help) or if i get the flour out he'll go and get a measuring cup from the drawer. plus, he helps put silverware away. smart boy, eh?
tonight he was looking for his slippers and he went running into his room looking for them even though they were right in the living room. i told him that they were right here and he stopped, turned around and said, "OH!" it was the cutest thing. he did it again when he was looking for his water bottle.
and so, now it is time for bed and so i leave you with this picture
