rock collecting

we have a rock collector.  his name is Noah.  He LOVES to pick up, sort, and pile rocks.  he's so good at rock collecting, check out his newest collection!!  

ha ha.  just kidding.  those were for the patio.  good thing he's all about rocks or else we don't know how we would make any progress on the patio at all!!  he seriously can occupy himself ALL WEEKEND by collecting rocks.  too bad the pile isn't as big now.  should we tell him about the rock collection that mama still has at bijou and pop's house?  or about quartz hill?

anyways, he's also pretty obsessed with trucks, especially construction trucks.  wherever we go, he points them out and even tries his hardest to say excavator although its mostly just "essscaah."  today he tried to say forklift too.  

his language skills are definitely developing quickly.  its great when we can just ask him if he can say something and he tries to repeat it.  its amazing!!  today, we worked on "i love you" and he did quite well!!  he's getting much better at making conversation and now he says multiple word sentences.  every day he's been saying something new.  oh, and he thinks the word "poofy" is super duper funny.  

we are all getting nervous about mama going to work and noah going to toni's house all day.  i'm beginning to think that he's going to need lots of mama time when i get home.  i was hoping he'd be mr independent, but i'm thinking that its going to be more like lots of snuggles, hugs, and cuddling.  any advice or tips for making the transition easier?  one thing is for sure, its going to be HARD.

but regardless, we've been having a lovely time together this last bit of summer.  here are a few shots from vacation.

and just cause it's funny, here's a picture of noah riding on mama's back.  blurry baby means baby in motion.  didn't feel so good at the time but is a fun picture.  :-)

so other than that, we have just been having a good time.  our latest challenge has been fits of random loud yells.  provoked?  i dunno.

but, on the bright side of things, his sleeping has been getting better at night too.  who's excited for a 7 hour stretch this week!??!!  anyways, i'm sure we're gonna get that all situated just in time for me to start work and mess it all up.  go figure.

noah's snuggles are kinda funny these days too.  he'll ask for snuggles only for him to fuss and say no no no when we go to sit down.  its been kinda random off and on i need mama and i'm mr independent these days.  i guess that's a sign he's growing up, right?
